Saturday, October 18th.  Professor Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva held an amazing seminar for Alliance/Boise!  The seminar was sold out!!!  Gigi focused the seminar on Spider Guard and transitions from there into the X Guard. 

Belt Promotions were held too:

Purple Belt:  Jon Pappas

Blue Belt:  Adam, Ryan, Juan, Guye, Mat and Ia

And too many stripes to mention!!!

Congrats to all the guys that got promotions and stripes.  Thank you to my team for making Gigi’s seminar a success!

    NAGA (North American Grappling Association) was held in Las Vegas on Oct, 4th.  It wasn’t a scheduled tournament for me.  More of a last minute thing.  But none the less.   Tons of fun!!!  I was able to take Casey”WildStyle”Johnson with me.  It was his first BJJ competition (but he is a greco roman state champ.)  Casey fought 140lb white belt division.  I fought middle weight Brown/Black Expert division.  On a side note…  I got to fight 4X world champion, Fredson Paixao.  It was a real honor to share the mat with that guy!
